Sublocade® is a long-acting injectable form of buprenoprhine, a medication that is used to treat opioid use disorder and help in recovery. The medication can help decrease drug use and reduce cravings.
Sublocade® is given once a month in the abdomen. Due to potential risks with the medication, Sublocade® can only be dispensed from certain pharmacies and must be given by a healthcare professional, like a pharmacist.
Side effects that you may experience with Sublocade® include constipation, headache, nausea, and pain at the injection site. The injection may also cause a small bump under the skin at the injection site that will slowly get smaller over the month as the medication is released into your body. Please seek immediate medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction or trouble breathing while on Sublocade®.
